Will your product cover grey hair?
Yes, our Henna Maiden & Manly Guy coloring covers grey upon the first application for a majority of clients.

How long do I need to leave the paste on for?
First-time users should leave the paste on for 2 to 3 hours on the hair and 1.5 to 2 hours on the beard to ensure the best results. Once you are familiar with the results, you may shorten the time to see if it still gives the same color.
How long will the color last in my hair?
The color typically lasts about 6-8 weeks in the hair before color fading is noticeable. This depends on the type of shampoo/conditioner you use and how frequently you use it. If your hair has been damaged from chemicals, this can also shorten the time the color stays in but the more you use the product, the longer it will begin to last as it will heal the damaged hair over time. New growth of grey will show up faster on some depending on how fast their hair grows over time.
How long does the color last on my beard?
The color will last for about 7-10 days but we tend to find people will reapply within the 4-7 day due to the new growth.
How long after I apply henna can I use it again on my hair?
Henna has no negative side effects and is very good for your hair so you can use it multiple times in the same month, it will only benefit your hair.
How frequently can I use the henna on my beard?
Most people can use henna on their face every day while others with a little more sensitive skin may start to dry out. The color lasts for 4 to 5 days on the facial hair before the new growth of grey begins to show so even those with the most sensitive skin should have no issues.
How long do I need to leave the paste sit for prior to applying?

Isn’t henna only a red color?
Pure henna only dyes hair red but because we mix it with additional plant powders we are able to offer a variety of colors.
Can I use chemical hair dyes over the henna?
We recommend waiting about a month to use chemical dyes over henna as there are so many different products with various types of chemicals in them and it's impossible for us to know if any of them may react with the henna. We do have some people that do highlights over henna without any issues though. If you were wanting to try to shorten this time, we would recommend a strand test as we do with any application just to be sure everything works out okay.

We recommend waiting about a month to use henna over chemical dyes as there are so many different products with various types of chemicals in them and it's impossible for us to know if any of them may react with the henna. After about a month, we would recommend starting with a strand test just to see how the color comes out over the chemical product. After that, if the color appears to be correct, you can go ahead with a full application.

Why did my hair turn green?
In 99% of cases, when your hair turns green, it is only for the first few hours after application before the final color sets into the hair and the henna completely oxidizes. Most of the time, we have people apply the paste in the evening so by the time they wake up, the henna will completely oxidize and you won't see that green color at all. You will want to give up to 48 hours to see this final color but most of the time it will show up even earlier and that green will be gone.
Do your hair dyes contain PPD’s or metallic salts?
No, our products are all natural with no PPD's or metallic salts. Many of our customers have switched over to us after developing allergies to the PPD's in the chemical-based products and are able to use our henna without any issues.
If I leave the paste out, how long until it goes bad?
You will want to follow the instructions and only leave it out for up to 30 minutes at most before application. If you leave it out longer, the henna ingredient will continue to activate but the other ingredients will deactivate and you will be left with a stronger red tone.
What is the shelf life of the henna powder?
The dry henna powder will stay fresh as long as it is kept in a cool, dry, and airtight storage away from sunlight for 1-2 years.
The color is bleeding out of my hair, how can I fix this?
If the color is bleeding out of your hair, this is typically due to your hair being damaged in some way. We mostly find that this happens to people who have used chemical dyes for a long time. Fortunately, henna is very good for the hair and will begin to heal and strengthen it over time which will result in less bleeding and a longer lasting color. If the bleeding persists, you can try a white vinegar rinse after rinsing out the henna which can help seal in the color.
I’ve used henna before and when I used that product, I was told to let it sit out for hours after mixing. Why don’t I have to let your product sit out?
Poor quality henna that is not finely ground like ours requires long wait times to allow the dye to release. Our product is triple sifted to create a finer powder and therefore there is more surface area that allows the dye to be released MUCH faster. The finer the grind, the faster the dye will release. We recommend you follow our instructions and do not let it sit.
